Rumah Attap Library & Collective

Corporate Branding Identity, 2020

Corporate Branding exercise for Rumah Attap Library & Collective, located at the Zhongshan Building in Kuala Lumpur.

A place for community to come together even though individuals are from different walks of life, Rumah Attap itself was formed by collectives from different backgrounds. With this in mind, the logo is made of elements from many different sources – though all of them are from publications and items relating to academia. This is to represent the intellectual values that Rumah Attap holds close to its core. Every element is unique but just as important as the last.

These are the namecards I designed for both Rumah Attap itself and one of the co-founders, Au Sow Yee. The background of Rumah Attap’s namecard is actually a scan of a library borrowing card from RA itself, and Au Sow Yee’s namecard is meant to emulate a tea bag and old bag tag.

Letterhead and envelope for Rumah Attap:

In the following semester, I was challenged to further develop Rumah Attap’s identity not just through their stationery but through other aspects of their brand as well.

As shown below, I designed the back exterior facade of their imagined space, as well as the bathroom, a coffee cart, and level signage.

Lanyards to be worn by volunteers and t-shirts to be sold as merchandise to the public:

Redesigned Rumah Attap’s membership card. Made up of old concert tickets, the collaged design is meant to be in line with the vintage, cosy feel of the brand.

A welcome kit for new members. It consists of the membership card, a note, and a coaster, all packaged in a brown envelope wrapped in strings:
